Hello girls! Before taking a break from the web for my summer holidays I want to show you an old work done some years ago for my home. These are crochet edges to decorate the shelves of an old cabinet restored by my father ... I have always seen it a bit too serious and I thought to make it lighter with these simple edges that seem lace (in fact the hook I used is very small!).
A hug to you all and... see us in September! Happy holidays!
Very nice. You do lovely work.
ReplyDeleteI'm allways in awe when I see such laces ! a great dose of patience because yes one can tell the crochet was very small !
ReplyDeleteWhere I live this is very popular to decorate shelves like this...
Have a nice restful time, "see you" in September :)
@jennifer: thank you, I'm glad you like it!
ReplyDelete@Sierra: yes, a great dose of patience, but if you have to do small works...your dose is enough ;) See you on Semptember!!!
Happy Holidays, your shelf edge work is fantastic. I love your cupboard. Hugs, Margie.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I would love to be able to do something like this for my china hutch, but have never been able to get the hang of working so small. Lace edgings and doilies continue to be a skill beyond my grasp. My grandmother crocheted nothing but so I keep waiting for the genetic skill to kick in. ~Kelly

@Margie: Thank you, I'm very affectionate to my cupboard, it's a work that my father has done for me.
ReplyDelete@Kelly: Dont' give up! It is not difficult, it takes only a little more patience, but I am sure that you will do it well :)
This is simply so gorgeous -- just a narrow band of tiny stitches that makes the whole space in the cupboard seem so pulled together!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
Thank you!!! :)
