Christmas Swap issues

Hello Crocheters!

I´ve been away for quite sometime, busy renovating my home, planning a wedding while working and then looking after overseas guests. I have to admit I haven´t picked up a crochet hook in about 4 or 5 months. But I´m married now, it all went pretty well on the day although the photographer was sick and we had some standby, our DJ was a total DJzillar yelling at us even though we were early and on time with things, also wouldn´t move his equipment so we could have the ceremony inside... we had to get EVERYONE else accommodate HIM! anyhow I could so write a book about the things that went wrong leading up to the wedding. Lets just say wasps and thieves were involved. The house is pretty much finished and most of our guests have returned home.

So while I don´t have any crochet news to share (will soon got 2 baby presents to make) I do have to do a bit of an administrative post. Unfortunately I have had some not so great news about the Christmas swap. Due to this news I would like to ask all of those who participated in the swap and DIDNT get a package to email me and let me know what happened. I thought everything had gone well so I didn´t ask before, assumed anyone with a problem would have emailed me at the time.

I don´t want to name people who may not have sent a package as they promised when they joined so please send an email directly to me do not leave a comment here. It is not my intention to conduct a public witch hunt, so to speak. I really just want to know who didn´t get one so that I can organise something for them. I´m so sorry for those of you who had a bad experience with the swap.

Let me just say for future Swaps- people who fail to send packages and have no good excuse (Good excuse being death in family, injury, loss of job, having to move with little notice, sick family member etc) will NOT be allowed to join in other swaps. as you can see it causes a lot of hurt for the other person and causes bad feelings among people in our blog community.

Sorry about having to post this but I want to make sure things remain fair and that everyone has a positive experience with this blog. A HUGE sorry to all who have had problems with this blog and this community. I´m sorry I haven´t been so on-the-ball lately, replying to people quickly but I am back now and things should be good again.

Happy Crocheting

My Awesome Xmas Hot Pad Parcel...

I've had a hard time getting online recently, so I am a bit late in getting this posted, but I'm finally taking the time to get his out here for all to see.  My swap partner, Jennifer, sent me some beautiful items.  WOW is all I can say, and a HUGE thank you!  Jennifer does beautiful crochet...just look at the hot pads she made for me, including a gorgeous doily!  Not only that, but she sent me some really nice yarn, note pads, stitch markers, necklace & matching earrings, candles and dishcloths pattern booklet.  I definitely got spoiled with some VERY NICE things!  Thanks again Jennifer!  This swap has been a lot of fun!

Queen G and Lux@Co swap party!

Queen G and I live in the same neck of the woods and decided to have a swap party! Lux (my cat) was there, so was my son (but he kept to his computer).
I was spoiled rotten. Not only did I receive an amazing surreal pot holder (bronze/lurex with snowflakes), a book on Egypt (I can't never get enough!), a 2010 diary (already in use) green lurex thread (lovely, wouldn't you say?), two pop portraits of Lux and Hungarian salami (it was eaten last night...). We also drank champagne.
(Wouldn't you call that being spoiled?)
Thanks again QueenG!

New Afghan between renovating and wedding planning

Finally got some photos of a new afghan I'm making. It's going to be for our new and improved living room, well once the place is finished being renovated and who knows when that will be... I decided to be a bit more adventurous with the colours and used a white border (Usually I use a dark one). I'm thinking of making it about 8 by 10 squares just large enough to cover the couch seat.

Thanks to everyone who's posted photos of their swap packages. I'm starting to worry now just noticed on my postoffice receipt there's no 'air mail' after the USA postage item. I hope it's not traveling by ship! Sorry Pammy might be getting yours late! arrrrrr Fingers crossed that it's not!

Swap Parcel for Bev

I got this email from Bev a while back and she asked me to post the photo of her swap package because she couldn't work out how to. I thought it was important to also add what the email said. Here it is in red.

"I have already received my swap package from Janet Goulet. I've attached a picture. Isn't it just the most special thing you have ever seen? I absolutely love it -- and am so excited she sent it early. You see, I have cancer and things are pretty dicey right now so she sent it early. Isn't that sweet of her?
Bev

P.S. I hope you don't mind that we traded early. It seemed like the right thing to do. Thanks!"

I agree Bev, it is a wonderful swap parcel! Thank you to Janet for making Bev's day and for being so thoughtful and sending it sooner. I hope Bev is alright and enjoying her pot holders and other goodies!!!!!

I love my Christmas SWAP package!!

What a delightful surprise I had when I came home from a 6 hour drive last night.  It was my box from Dawn who was my SWAP partner.  I'm delighted with everything.  The potholder and dishcloth are just beautiful.  I love the vintage booklet and look forward to finding a project to work on.  The snowy yarn is so cute too. She included a German cookie recipe from her Great Grandma which I intend on making this holiday season.    She even included some coffee and a chocolate treat - just perfect for me - thank you so much Kathy Ann for organizing and thank you Dawn for your lovely work!
