may flower tote

Knowing full well that one can never have too many totes....ahem

....and seeing this gorgeous, gorgeous pattern in my favorite magazine: Crochet today!

I got to work using I Love This Yarn in turquoise and an I hook. The stitch pattern is so easy & it worked up so quickly!

I added a fabric liner that was reinforced with Craft-Fuse (yes, this tote needs to be sturdy enough to hold the kitchen sink because it seems my purse easily becomes a catch-all for everything & everyone!)

I then attached faux leather straps and metal feet.

Hmm. What else?
A crocheted mum makes it the perfect May Flower Tote.

  8. How lovely! I love that you put on the metal feet. That will really save the bottom from getting all dirty when you set it down.

  10. I just made this bag last week and you simply MUST line it to have it keep it's shape! If you don't, it flops and looks awful. I used blue for the bag and gray to sc the pieces together as well as for the handles, but I like the look of yours with store-bought handles, so I'm going to change them. Nice job!
