Sheet and pillows

Dear friends, I hope you have had the most enjoyable holiday.

Today I want to show you the borders for sheet and pillows I made for my mother, inspired by an old lace. I used a tiny crochet, 0.75, and a cotton yarn that was from my grandmother - in fact you can see in the pictures some spots - which makes the board more romantic and old.

The Butterfly Project

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all busy, busy, busy with crochet projects and preparing for the Christmas swap. I'm unsure how many of you already know about the butterfly project but thought I might post it here in case you are interested.

1,500,000 children perished in the holocaust and now the Houston Holocaust Museum is remembering and honouring them.

In an effort to remember them, Holocaust Museum Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies. The butterflies will eventually comprise a breath-taking exhibition, currently scheduled for Spring 2012, for all to remember.

Round Ripple

I just finished this blanket, it goes to my Doctor that just had a little girl. I didn't really have a color pattern to go by I just sort of made it up as I went along, but I am happy with the way the colors worked out. I have really gotten hooked on these round ripples, I guess it is because they are so easy and you can sort of see it grow ring after ring. I'm probably going to start another one as a Christmas present now, but it definitely won't be pink, I have 6 g-sons! Take care.

My first baby Blanket finished

I actually finished this a couple of weeks ago but things have been pretty busy here. I used a baby wool in pale blue to crochet 5 x5 inch squares which I then stitched together.

I wanted to put an edging on the blanket but only having completed one edging before I wanted to keep it simple. So using white wool I picked up stitches as I went round and used single crochet stitch.

I was worried that the corners might not sit flat so as I was going round the corner (If that makes sense) I did an extra chain between each single crochet. i am not sure if that is the correct way of doing things but it worked and I got it to on all four corners too!

The blanket is for a colleague at work who became a new Dad just before the school term ended for the Summer Holidays. I go back to work tomorrow and shall take in with me. I am really pleased with my first attempt, I used all of the blue wool, so I did not add to my stash and I have been using some of the white to practice other stitches. I have moved onto another project but it is a WIP at the moment so I shall say no more for now.

Hello Everyone I'm Fighting With Socks Today

Hello Everyone,

I'm new here but this blog sure seems a good place to be. Everyone seems so crochet-motivated which is I guess why we are all here.

I've just finished this new crochet cloche hat today which is my own design. I will publish the pattern for this on my blog later in the week. http://goodtimesithinkso.blogspot.com/ All of my patterns to date are freely available for personal use. I love designing and creating things but don't exactly relish the documenting aspect.


I've also crocheted two different daisies to put on the hat but now I can't decide which one looks best. Perhaps some of you could let me have your opinions ?


I apologise for the poor quality of photos but it isn't exactly sunny in Scotland today in fact it's overcast and very dull. I hate phtographing with flash.
