Trying my hand with a new technique -- entrelac. And how addicting this is!
The most wonderful directions come from this book.
And it actually uses the tunisian simple stitch --or afghan stitch as it is called in the book-- and once I found this
how-to video, I was well on my way to making some seriously intoxicating plaid diamonds.
This is what the backside looks like.
Hmmmm. I am very charmed with this whole technique and can't wait to make some scarves. Maybe a red & white one.....
I have always wanted to try this but thought it was so hard looking. Yours is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYours looks great. I got a booklet on how to do entrelac but my sample curled horribly. It looked like one of those Chinese finger cuffs. I may have to check out the tutorial and give it another try.
ReplyDeleteThis is so interesting, I cant wait to try it!
ReplyDeleteI love it. I am getting ready to start an Entrelac knit scarf. Thank you for the inspiration. ~Kelly

ReplyDeleteIs there a left handed tutorial for entrelac/ Thanks, Betty Brown
ReplyDeletelove the look, but the idea of tucking in all those threads reminds me of grannies which I've not done in a long while as I OD'd on them. lol

ReplyDeleteI read a great tip for learning a crochet technique for left-handers:
Hold a mirror to the pic/page/pattern to see how the stitch is done.
So impressed I bought the book ! along with a - z of knitting techniques (as my Mon Trico book is around 35 years old and falling a part at the seams (a bit like me really)).
ReplyDeleteit is amazing. at last i have found something new and different than usual crochet
ReplyDeleteI agree, that book has some excellent stitch and technique tutorials - the entrelac, as explained in this book is probably the best one I have seen plus the photos that go along with the tutorial really makes the instructions clear. Your piece is very nice - thanks for sharing.
