Christmas Swap issues

Hello Crocheters!

I´ve been away for quite sometime, busy renovating my home, planning a wedding while working and then looking after overseas guests. I have to admit I haven´t picked up a crochet hook in about 4 or 5 months. But I´m married now, it all went pretty well on the day although the photographer was sick and we had some standby, our DJ was a total DJzillar yelling at us even though we were early and on time with things, also wouldn´t move his equipment so we could have the ceremony inside... we had to get EVERYONE else accommodate HIM! anyhow I could so write a book about the things that went wrong leading up to the wedding. Lets just say wasps and thieves were involved. The house is pretty much finished and most of our guests have returned home.

So while I don´t have any crochet news to share (will soon got 2 baby presents to make) I do have to do a bit of an administrative post. Unfortunately I have had some not so great news about the Christmas swap. Due to this news I would like to ask all of those who participated in the swap and DIDNT get a package to email me and let me know what happened. I thought everything had gone well so I didn´t ask before, assumed anyone with a problem would have emailed me at the time.

I don´t want to name people who may not have sent a package as they promised when they joined so please send an email directly to me do not leave a comment here. It is not my intention to conduct a public witch hunt, so to speak. I really just want to know who didn´t get one so that I can organise something for them. I´m so sorry for those of you who had a bad experience with the swap.

Let me just say for future Swaps- people who fail to send packages and have no good excuse (Good excuse being death in family, injury, loss of job, having to move with little notice, sick family member etc) will NOT be allowed to join in other swaps. as you can see it causes a lot of hurt for the other person and causes bad feelings among people in our blog community.


Sorry about having to post this but I want to make sure things remain fair and that everyone has a positive experience with this blog. A HUGE sorry to all who have had problems with this blog and this community. I´m sorry I haven´t been so on-the-ball lately, replying to people quickly but I am back now and things should be good again.

Challenge moved to later date.

I just wanted to say sorry to all of you out there who were interested in the February challenge that I blogged about at the end of last month. Things have been hectic and there has been some very stressful events I've had to deal with which have kept me from blogging and organising this challenge. George our new baby rabbit is holding on to dear life and we've had to give him some intensive care. Our house renovations and my work load at the moment have also been very overwhelming and time consuming. I am sorry to have to post pone the challenge and anyone who has been waiting for an inviation to join I'm sorry that it's taken so long. I haven't checked emails for quite some time now.

Please keep up the great work and keep posting your wonderful crochet work. I'll let you all know when things get better here and then we can get back to the challenge etc.

A Virtual Bookshelf has Been Added

I was looking at another blog and stumbled across this little widget that lets you put a virtual bookshelf on your blog. I thought it would be a good idea to add it to our blog and we could fill it with crochet titles we like and recommend. I have already put my favourite crochet book 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankents, Throws and Afghans by Jan Eaton on the bookshelf. I also added another, Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs: 144 circles, hexagons, triangles, squares and other uneypected shapes by Edie Eckman, that I think would be interesting but do not yet own. If you have a favourite crochet book please let me know and I can add it to our bookshelf. You can let me know by email or by commenting on this post.

Hope you all like this new little widget, I personally think it's quite cute, and I look forward to your suggestions!

Hello fellow crocheters,
I trust everyone is still enjoying the crochet along. I just love seeing all the new posts and then reading all the great comments. Great to see lots of sharing of ideas and some patterns.

I'm writing today because I am a bit concerned about some people who have emailed me wanting to join but then not accepting their invitations, even after a month of me sending an invite and conformation email. I want to know are they not accepting the invite because they have changed their minds or are my invites not getting through to everyone?

I don't want anyone to miss out so please let me know if you have emailed me wanting to join but have not received an invite or don't know how to accept one. If you have changed your mind and that's why you haven't accepted your invitation that is fine.
