because I'm lazy

I want a blanket to curl up on the couch in our newly redecorated family room, THIS winter... not NEXT year (or worse ! you know how that goes sometimes...)
I found this quick & easy pattern in the winter 2003 issue of Marie-Claire Idées (the French craft magazine)

I bought some so warm and so light icelandic (100%) wool on etsy and set to work right away, replacing the garter stitch of the plain squares by some (US)double stitches, with a crochet size 4.5mm

10 squares so far, I will need 35

The Hexagon Granny Cardigan Finished

Another little cardigan finished. Just thought I´d share a photo of the finished product. Please visit my last post if you want to find the pattern for it. I did alter the pattern a bit and put a few rows down the back to make it wider without making the sleeves wider. This was a bit of a bother and disformed it a little until I crocheted the edging. I put 4 rows of edging and no collar to make up for the adjusted back. Anyhow it all worked out in the end and I am pleased. Also a very quick project just 4 or 5 hours worth of work!

A few crochet projects

I have been crocheting for many years....However, everything i have made was either square or rectangular! I made tons of baby blankets, throws, granny square projects, scarves.... This past year i have taken some knitting classes and learned how to read knitting patterns, and am doing very well with that. I am now looking for a class to teach me how to use my crochet skills more creatively. I found this pattern for a child's poncho online. It is basically 2 rectangles sewn together. I liked the way it came out and am currently making another one in a smaller size for my granddaughter Lola...

Does anyone have any suggestions on where i can find some really easy to read crochet patterns for baby sweaters and hats, for beginners. As i said, i have been crocheting for years, but get confused with pattern directions. Thanks!
