Raspberry Delight!

I finished the cardigan I was making for our friends' new baby girl Paula Johanna. She was born about a month ago and we are just itching to go see her. I was so happy to hear that it was a girl because then I had an excuse to use some super pink yarn. I just love hot pinks but haven't had any real reason to use some.

Lucky for me the exact stuff I was looking for was in the discount corner at the local yarn shop. Still meant $5 dollars for 50gms but hay for raspberry coloured 100% merino wool who's complaining! I mixed up two patterns to come up with this one. Unfortunately I printed out the patterns long ago and have forgotten the sites I got them from so I cannot share them.

It's been finished off with the cutest of pink mother-of-pear buttons. I am also planing to make a beanie to go with the cardigan. I hope it will keep her warm this winter. It will be too small for the following winter.

Sunshine International Blankets of Love - SIBOL

Sue over at Sue's Favourite Things began a project at the beginning of the year to create blankets for the elderly. She asked if fellow crocheter’s might help in her project by contributing a square or two.

In Sue’s words:-

I hope you can help. If everyone could just send one square I would be most grateful. I know postage is expensive.
For those who would like information
6" x 6" - (15cms x 15cms)
Knitted or Crocheted
Acrylic I think would be better (if possible) don't worry if you haven't got Acrylic.
Any design, any colour. (Basic Granny Square or more involved up to you!)
Just odd bits of wool/yarn you have left over from projects. I don't want it to cost any one
money.
No panic, no rush, no deadline. This is something I want to be doing all year.

Crochet Bag

I first saw this idea over at The Garden Bell. I thought that it would be a good stash buster and really fun to make.

At the moment I am keeping my wool in it that I am using at the time. I have decided to make another which is going to be a 500th post giveaway on my blog.

I think it would look in a wide range of colours. My daughter likes it too.............

Spring/Summer Cuhsion

HI, I have not posted here for a while as I have been concentrating on a bit of quilting and taking part in a couple of Quilting Bees.

Here is a picture of my first ever crochet cushion cover.

I wanted a light and fresh cover to go on a cream chair that we have bravely put in the living room. The wool is left over from other projects and I saw a similar idea over at Attic24.

I wanted to make the back different, therefore having two cushions in one. The white wool is in fact 100% cotton yarn. I normally use it for making dish cloths and it was lovely to crochet with. I stitched the panels together and then finished off the edging with some picot stitch.

I still have a little bit of wool left so another project is in the pipeline.

Flower Power

Since flowers are popping up everywhere in the garden, my mom and I have been making flower dishcloths and hot pads.  The pattern for the dishcloth is free at Michaels and is fun and easy!
