When it's cold outside...

Here in Germany it's very cold at the moment and my daughter has been complaining that her beanie is not helping her keep warm enough. After looking at Pinterest for some ideas and trying out a 'moss stitch' in crochet, I came up with this simple hoody.

It fits her well and protects her neck as well as a bit of her cheeks which is a bonus. of course it had to be done in pinks and purples. Oh that daughter of mine!

A turtle named "Squirt"

My latest venture into amigurumi making with this cute little turtle that my daughter asked me to make for her.  Sophie collects turtles and thought a crocheted versions would go well with her collection.

Sophie chose the yarn and by mixing several pattern elements together I created this little fellow.

1970's Inspired Granny Square Blanket

In the banner at the top of this blog is a photograph of my granny square blanket which I added to this blog, I think at least a year ago more possibly more.

Well at long last..............

................I have finished it.

It turned out quite big and I am not going to admit how long it took me to make in amongst a very busy full time job and family, that would be embarassing!

It looks really good and will go in our living room along with the other two I have made over the years so that we now have one each.

I do have some wool left over so I am now looking for a project to use it up.  Any suggestions?

NEW- Crochet Cushion Cover

It has been a while since my last post but I have been busy and here was a make that I completed in November.

A new take on the Granny Square cushion cover by twisting the panel slightly before sewing together.  Makes up quite quickly and does give the cushion two different sides.

I am looking forward to better weather for taking pictures but I hope you can see what I did.  Good for beginners too.
