I love this color...

I finished two sculptural crochet pieces over the weekend! I totally love this color! The round piece was a custom order and the smaller piece (which reminds me of bubbles) was just for fun.

Introducing ‘Tutti Frutti Daisy’ Granny Square Blanket.

Well as promised I’m delighted to be able to introduce and show you my newest creation. Tutii Frutti Daisy blanket – I so love the colour combination here, and hope you do to.

IMG_0420

The blanket is constructed from 7 rows of 7 squares across and 7 rows of 7 squares down. A total of 49 squares. Each square has a pink central daisy flower and is then surrounded by 7 different colours.

I think the colour work in this pattern is gorgeous and so very pretty and cheerful. The pattern contains explicit colour guidance for each and every square – so 49 different colour combinations.

The finished blanket measures 54“ x 54“. The blanket could be made larger or smaller by increasing or decreasing the amount of squares used.

How to Crochet Granny Squares Together

How to crochet granny squares together.

I have recently been asked how to crochet granny squares together and
so an impromptu tutorial. The concept seems much more difficult than the
actual process is. The important things to remember are.

Lay your squares out exactly as the pattern states or as you wish them to
be crocheted together.

Always keep your squares right side facing.

I always work from right to left.

I always crochet together all horizontal rows first and then vertical rows
second.

I always work from the bottom right hand corner and row progressing up
the way, 1 row at a time.

Abbreviations used:
ch – chain
sp – space
sc – single crochet USA, dc –UK

Baby's First Granny blanket

I've actually been doing a lot of crocheting and stuff for the baby but have forgotten to actually blog about it. Here is one of the 3 blankets I've made for the little one who is due to arrive in about 4 weeks. It was a great way to use up a bit of my stash. Nice and colourful for playing on I think!
I will eventually have to post some photos of the other things I've made. Hope everyone else is well. It's getting so cold here in Melbourne, hope you are all warmer!
